Rosé Gin Spritzer

Note: This post was originally published on my old lifestyle blog, monicadutia.com.

I thought it'd be fun to kick off Fourth of July "Week" with a simple, refreshing summer gin spritzer cocktail to take you through the holiday and beyond! My bff from home was visited for a few days at the end of last week and into the weekend, so we spent a lot of time at home lounging and catching up. She helped me come up with this cocktail idea and we enjoyed them before brunch–obviously burgers–at Le Diplomate on Saturday!

The temperatures also climbed into the mid-90s (aka literally the most miserable) and after what seemed like a generously long spring, it's now very much summer–also known as rosé season for many! Rosé on it's own is obviously wonderful, but spritzers are my favorite way to enjoy alcoholic beverages during the warmest time of year–partly since they often have a little bit of built-in hydration and partly because crisp, cold bubbles are especially appealing this time of year. (As an aside, if you haven't had an Aperol Spritz, order one next time you're out. They're my favorite summer–and one of my favorite "anytime"–beverages!)

This rosé gin spritzer drink is incredibly simple (a theme for most of my cocktails!) and is made with items you likely already have on hand. Play with the proportions as needed, and definitely don't skimp on the seltzer with this one. The rosé + gin combination can be overwhelming and the bubbles cut it well.

Gin Rosé Spritzer

  • 1/4 cup rosé

  • 1/4 cup seltzer or club soda, chilled

  • 1 shot gin

  • 4 tbsp muddled strawberries

  1. In a bowl, muddle strawberries until well smashed. Set aside.

  2. Pour rosé, seltzer, gin, and strawberries into a glass and stir well. Top with 4-5 cubes of ice and serve immediately.
